Your company has provided you with access to XTRA information and services via XTRALINK. XTRALINK makes available information and provides guidance to support you and your family during potentially traumatic events such as accidents involving motor vehicles, injuries sustained, or illnesses contracted at work, and death.
When an injury is sustained, or an occupational disease contracted at work, an employee may claim from the Compensation Fund. All companies are required to register with the Compensation Fund and pay premiums, which are used to fund the compensation paid to employees, or in the case of death, to their financial dependants.
If you suffered an injury on duty or contracted a disease at work and you are prevented from working, you may qualify to receive compensation for medical expenses incurred and compensation for loss of income depending on whether you are eventually able to return to work or are permanently disabled. In addition, if you are deceased, your financial dependants may be entitled to compensation as well.
COIDLINK provides you, or your next-of-kin if you passed away, with information, guidance and resources to claim from the Compensation Fund. This includes establishing who can claim, what can be claimed, and the processes for claiming in the event of an injury sustained or occupational disease contracted at work.
